Saffron Karlsen

Saffron Karlsen is Professor of Sociology in the School of Sociology, Politics and International Studies. A mixed-method researcher, her work explores the impacts of stigmatization and social exclusion on health and other life experiences, and the potential for more collaborative methodologies to effectively respond to these.

Natasha Carver

Natasha Carver is a Senior Lecturer in International Criminology in the School for Policy Studies. A socio-legal scholar with a background in migration advocacy, Natasha’s work focuses on legal coloniality in historical and present-day legislation and policy. She has expertise in creative research methods and investigating sensitive topics.

Magda Mogilnicka

Magda Mogilnicka is a Lecturer in Sociology. Her research interests are in the fields of citizenship and migration, lived experiences of diversity and everyday racism. She has expertise in a range of qualitative methodologies involving researching sensitive topics with marginalised communities.

Christina Pantazis

Christina Pantazis is Professor of Zemiology in the School for Policy Studies. Her work draws on zemiology and feminism to examine the development and implementation of anti-FGM law and policy and their impacts on affected communities. She’s particularly interested in improving understandings of the intended and unintended impacts of law, policy and practice.
